Rock Paper Scissors Collective provides programming, and exists with a collective base striving to reflect the racial, ability level, and socio-economic diverse neighborhood. RPSC has a collective belief that all people deserve access and space for creativity.

Our “Neighborhood Voices Club” creates inclusive programming available free of cost  to residents in a four-ish block radius of Rock Paper Scissors Collective (2120 MLK Jr Way, Oakland). Some of the neighbors in our direct vicinity include veterans, houseless, and low income communities. Neighborhood Voices Club promotes creative inclusivity in a gallery and workshop setting, which has traditionally been seen as a place solely for the wealthy.

Over a six month period, we forged relationships with residents and building management, collected interest surveys, asked short interviews, and held collage and painting workshops with snacks and vinyl records to sing along to. This zine compilation and accompanying gallery exhibit highlight local voices.
