Art Party: Opening of Elias Duchowny Exhibit

elias' artworkThis fall, the Main Library TeenZone is happy to host twelve-year-old Elias Duchowny’s first institutional exhibit, showcasing new large-format works inspired by the Bay Area’s vibrant street art scene, the recent upswell of class conscious activism through the Occupy movement, and life in the East Bay.

Come out for an opening reception on September 22 at 3pm, with live art demos by local artists and hands-on activities for all ages led by Rock Paper Scissors.

As Elias put it, “I go to a school without any art classes for kids my age. My school district doesn’t think that art is a priority. I do.” Oakland Public Library agrees. Join Elias and friends as we make (and appreciate) some art together.
